Reviews of Mac Beth at Hunter Theatre Project adapted and directed by Erica Schmidt

JANUARY 2020

"The all-female cast of “Mac Beth” makes a glorious physical and aural mulch of the stage...their adolescent stomps and bangs and splashes often qualify as laugh lines, fully earned...people sitting in the front row get thrillingly splattered as Macbeth’s witches boil and bubble." -The New Yorker

"The witches here engineer the proceedings, as teenage volatility says off with a head. These girls are beyond creepy, as their dark powers lead to dancing, flinging themselves about...This cast is really excellent, especially Ismenia Mendes and Sophie Kelly-Hedrick whose quirky voice is mesmerizing" -Times Square Chronicles
